ASHRAE Presidents Scholarship Grant

The ASHRAE Presidents Scholarship supports full-time students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in engineering, focusing on HVAC and refrigeration. To qualify, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and complete at least 45 credit hours with two years remaining before graduation. Scholarships are awarded for the upcoming academic year, beginning in the fall semester, and re-applications are welcomed from previous applicants who meet current criteria.

Scholarships are awarded to full-time students enrolled in an undergraduate Bachelor of Science engineering curriculum, which has traditionally been a preparatory curriculum for the profession of HVAC or refrigeration, must have completed a minimum of 45 semester credit hours or equivalent, and must have TWO years of study remaining before graduation.
Scholarships are awarded for the academic year following the application deadline beginning with the fall semester. Re-applications accepted from former scholarship applicants and recipients who meet current criteria.

Eligibility

Applicants must be a current ASHRAE student Member, have a cumulative college Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a scale where 4.0 is the highest, and the university the student attends must meet the following criteria:The institution hosts an active ASHRAE Student Branch or the degree program must be accredited by an agency recognized by ASHRAE as listed in 3.8 of the Society Scholarship Program Guidelines.The program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) www.abet.org or the institution is accredited by an equivalent agency outside the USA that is a signatory of the Washington Accord or the institution has a signed Memorandum of Understanding with ABET.To be eligible for scholarship renewal for a second year, the scholarship recipient must:Have maintained at least a 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) on a maximum 4.0 scale while enrolled full time, andHave at least one full year of study remaining before graduation, andHave obtained summer employment (10 week minimum) or an internship with an employer in the HVAC&R industry after their first scholarship year.
