Reese Fellowship Grant

The Reese Fellowship, funded by the William Reese Company, supports research in American bibliography and the history of the book in America. The American Antiquarian Society encourages postdoctoral scholars and graduate students from various fields to apply. With a stipend of $2,200 per month for a term of one to two months, this fellowship prioritizes individuals who have not held long-term fellowships in the last three years, promoting a rich scholarly environment.

Eligibility

Postdoctoral scholars and graduate studentsAcademic research fellowship applicants may come from such fields as history, literature, American studies, political science, art history, music history, and others relating to America before 1900. CriteriaFellows are selected on the basis of: the applicant’s scholarly qualifications, the scholarly significance or importance of the project, and the appropriateness of the proposed study to the Society’s collections.Foreign nationals who have been residents in the United States for at least three years immediately preceding the application deadline for the fellowship are eligible.
