Status: Applications currently open (as of January 2026)

Mission: Provides direct financial grants to recently released cannabis prisoners and currently incarcerated individuals to assist in their reentry into society.

Eligibility (Currently/Formerly Incarcerated)

Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria:

Must have been approved for and enrolled in one of LPP's programs during incarceration:

- Commissary Support Fund
- Letter Writing Program
- Cannabis Justice Initiative

Must be currently incarcerated OR recently released from prison (within the past year) for cannabis

If application is successful while incarcerated, grant will be awarded after release from prison

What They Fund

Based on grant recipient examples, funding has supported:

Educational expenses (school tuition)

Transportation (driver's license, vehicles)

Personal items (eyeglasses, clothes)

Housing accessibility modifications (ADA-compliant bathroom renovations)

Essential living expenses (rent, food)

Family medical bills (for families of incarcerated individuals)

Impact

Since 2020, LPP has distributed over $600,000 in grant funding.

What They Don't Fund

• Family support grants to children/dependents of constituents (as of January 2026)
• Grants to individuals not enrolled in LPP programs during incarceration
