Redwood Connects Grant

The Redwood Connect Grants, offered by Save the Redwoods League, aim to enhance equitable access to redwood parks by fostering meaningful connections between communities and nature. Targeting youth aged pre-K to 21, these grants prioritize low-income and marginalized groups, providing enriching park experiences that promote curiosity and stewardship. With over 300 grants awarded since 2000, the League seeks partners to inspire the next generation through direct engagement with the wonders of redwood forests.

About the Grants Program
Our Redwood Connect Grants are designed to foster equitable access to parks, meaningful and community-driven connections with nature, and a deeper understanding of the many different attributes and benefits of the redwood forest. Thus, a primary goal for the League is to provide engaging park experiences for youth, their families and communities so they experience the wonder of these remarkable forests.
Since 2000, Save the Redwoods League has awarded more than 300 grants for redwood field trips — serving thousands of children and families — and we are seeking community, school and park partners again this year to deliver in-park inspiration.
Grant Criteria
The League is seeking Redwood Connect Grant proposals for projects that:

• Deliver an inspiring firsthand experience in the redwoods, defined by community interests and needs.
• Directly serve youth ages pre-K – 21 who may not otherwise have the opportunity to visit the redwoods.
• Engage low-income youth, young people of color, and indigenous communities that often face barriers to outdoor access.
• Projects must be completed by the end of summer 2024.
• Redwood Connect Grant Categories
• All Redwood Connect Grant awards are $6,000.

There is also a Transportation Grant available for schools which will fund buses. This award amount is up to $500 per class.

Eligibility

Please note you can only apply to one of the above two grants.We only accept applications from nonprofit organizations (including public agencies and schools) as described in 26 USC Section 170(b) (1) (A) [other than clauses (vii) and (viii)].
