Schreiber Ornithology Research Awards The Los Angeles Audubon Society presents an annual research grant, the Ralph W. Schreiber Ornithology Research Award, to support research relevant to the biology of birds. Award recipients are limited to students and amateur ornithologists who are not able to secure research funding through channels available to professional ornithologists, and who reside in southern California (from San Luis Obispo, Kern and San Bernardino Counties south) or are currently enrolled in a southern California academic institution. There is no geographical restriction on the research area. While a more favorable consideration of research that is of a local nature involving local species and conservation issues, all researchers are encouraged to apply.Eligibility

Applicants should reside in or attend school in southern California [San Luis Obispo, Kern, and San Bernardino Counties and south, and adjacent areas (at the discretion of the Awards Committee)]. Awards will be given for ornithologically oriented research, which may be conducted anywhere. While we have taken a more favorable consideration of research that is of a local nature involving local species, all researchers are encouraged to apply.
