Our Shared Values CommunityStewardship Integrity Resilience Goals Develop a permanent endowment for the community. Meet prudent standards in the stewardship of philanthropic assets. Promote effective and responsible grant making designed to serve current and future community needs. Demonstrate community leadership in identifying problems and designing philanthropic solutions. Assist donors in fulfilling their philanthropic goals by providing a variety of philanthropic mechanisms Quick Response Grants Program This is a non-competitive, year-round grants program and is the primary way for the Homer Foundation to distribute funds to the community that align with our mission of enhancing the qualify of life for the citizens of the greater Homer area through charitable activities. Grant requests up to $5,000 are accepted year-round with a thirty-day response time. We have transitioned to a new software management system and the link below will take you to that platform. You will need to create your profile to apply. If you are unable to complete an online application, a paper copy may be available upon request and will have an earlier deadline each month.

Applications should be received minimally 30 days before the start of the project or the need for funding.Our Service Area: Southern Kenai Peninsula, from Ninilchik south including the communities across Kachemak Bay.Who is Eligible to Receive Funds?Societies and Groups not recognized by the IRS under section 501(c)(3), but are functioning to enhance the quality of life within our service area are eligible for consideration for projects that benefit the communities we serve. Contact the Foundation to discuss your project before submitting an application. Tribal Entities Municipal governments including school districts. Applicants must have completed their most recent Homer Foundation Quick Response grant-funded project and evaluation in order to be eligible to apply for another Quick Response grant.

The following are not routinely funded:General Operating Expenses Routine Maintenance New Buildings Fundraising Projects requesting funding more than once within twelve months
