Overview

Overview

_TTCF utilizes a simplified and streamlined granting process. Nonprofits need only apply once to a consolidated grant cycle offering at least $300,000 in available grant funds. Grant committee members from Open Competitive, Nature Fund, Queen of Hearts Women’s Fund, and Tahoe Donner Giving Fund will then jointly review proposals and direct them to aligned funding sources for further consideration._

Queen of Hearts Women’s Fund

Making a bigger impact together

Since February 2006, more than 1,300 women have raised over $1.3 million! These funds are held in an endowed fund at TTCF. Every year, that $1.3 million funds a grant cycle of $60,000. It will serve our region forever.

Accomplishments include:

* $700,000+ in grants to local nonprofits
* $75,000 to help establish a local chapter of Aim High
* 150+ local senior citizens “adopted” every year to brighten the holiday season in TTCF’s Senior Gifts Program

The Queen of Hearts Women's Fund has four areas to which it grants. At the annual GEMS (Grant Educate Motivate Serve) Event, supporters gather to hear grant presentations from finalists. The recorded presentations and vote process is online so supporters vote from anywhere.

* HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
* “Community” means standing beside one another in moments of need. These grants shelter our neighbors, defend their rights, and empower them to create brighter futures.

* EDUCATION AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
* These grants connect young people with their true potential. Grantees include after-school programs, mentoring, and literacy initiatives.

* ARTS, CULTURE, AND COMMUNITY BENEFIT
* These grants add vibrancy to our region and explore our sense of community and self. Grantees include public art projects, intellectual cultural experiences, and performance arts.

* ENVIRONMENT, RECREATION, AND ANIMAL WELFARE
* These grants contribute to those things at the center of our community culture: open spaces, wilderness, recreation, and wild and domestic animals.with their true potential. Grantees include after-school programs, mentoring, and literacy initiatives.
