About us We are an organisation comprising archaeologists, botanists, civil engineers, geographers, geologists, soil scientists, zoologists and others interested in research into the problems of the Quaternary. Our history The QRA was founded in 1964 as the Quaternary Field Study Group and became the Quaternary Research Association in 1968. Today, the QRA has an international membership of over 1000 people, with a large and thriving postgraduate student body. Quaternary Research Small Grant The Quaternary Research Small Grant is available to all members of the QRA of at least one year’s standing, irrespective of age and status, to foster research in any area of Quaternary studies. Please note that:we are not able to accept applications for radiocarbon dates (these are normally expected to be routed through NERC); andwe do not generally fund labour costs, except in exceptional circumstances.
