Geographic Scope: Arlington County, VA

Purpose: Arlington Community Foundation's long-standing Prompt Response Fund helps respond quickly to emergencies, disasters, or crises affecting nonprofits and their clients.

Focus Areas

The fund supports nonprofit organizations working on the front lines with:
• Emergency food needs
• Health needs for the uninsured or underinsured
• Support for hourly workers displaced from their wage-earning positions
• Support for populations experiencing urgent, unexpected needs

Target Populations

• The elderly and other high-risk populations
• Low income residents experiencing short-term financial crisis due to loss of work/missed work (laid off, quarantined, unable to work due to lack of child care)
• Residents who are food insecure
• Residents with no medical insurance or underinsured
• Nonprofit healthcare workers in need of protective gear and equipment

Special Notes

• Nonprofits seeking funds specifically for rent assistance for clients should refer residents/clients to Arlington County multilingual line: (703) 228-1500
• Funds are rapidly deployed as grants to nonprofits working to support vulnerable residents
