Emergency and Capacity Building Fund

Geographic Scope: Commonwealth of Virginia and organizations serving Virginia

Eligible Applicants: 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations providing oral health services

Purpose:
Provides immediate funding to safety-net and/or nonprofit organizations that provide oral health services to vulnerable populations facing unplanned emergencies or capacity challenges.

Eligible Requests Include:

• Time-sensitive, urgent requests: Unforeseeable events that significantly interrupt essential services to Virginia residents
• Major business shifts: Adding dental services, billing for Medicaid, or other significant operational changes
• Workforce challenges: Unexpected loss of key team members requiring clinic restructuring or operational assistance

Application Timeline: Open grant process—requests accepted at any time

Application Process

1. Contact the Foundation before submitting a request to discuss eligibility and needs
2. Submit request describing:
   • The emergency or capacity-building need
   • Evidence that the request is time-sensitive or unforeseeable
   • How the funding will address the urgent need
   • Impact on services to vulnerable Virginia residents
