Emergency and Capacity Building Fund

Geographic Scope: Commonwealth of Virginia

Eligible Organizations: 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations located in or serving Virginia that provide oral health services to vulnerable populations

Funding Purpose: Provides immediate funds for emergency and capacity-building needs

Eligible Uses:

• Time-sensitive, unpredictable emergency situations
• Short-term, urgent funding from unforeseen events that significantly interrupt essential services to Virginia residents
• Major shifts in clinic operations (e.g., adding dental services, implementing Medicaid billing)
• Staffing restructuring due to unexpected loss of key team members

Application Timeline: Open/rolling process - requests can be submitted at any time

Key Requirements:

• Request must be time-sensitive in nature
• Could not have been reasonably predicted or planned for
• Supports short-term, urgent needs from unforeseen events
• Significantly impacts ability to provide essential services to Virginia residents
