Project Valqari

Overview

A collaborative partnership between Governors State University and Valqari, a private drone company. The project provides opportunities for students and faculty to get involved with the research and development process of drone solutions, gaining hands-on experience building and operating cutting-edge drone technology.

Partner Organization

Valqari collaborates with companies, government agencies, universities, and other organizations to address multifaceted challenges of drone solutions. Their mission is to "work together to develop and refine solutions that drive innovation and efficiency in the field."

  • Dr. Xueqing "Clare" Tang - Chair of the Science, Math and Technology division in College of Arts and Sciences. Started the project to give students hands-on learning opportunities and to make an impact in education and the community at large.
  • Senior University Lecturer Aslam "Sam" Shahid - Leads the Drone Engineering Club

Recent Activities

Beginning in February 2025, the Drone Engineering Club students conducted flight testing on campus to further Project Valqari research.
