Overview
Professional Development Grants
Purpose: To provide funding for professional development opportunities not fully funded by Dare County Schools.
Geographic Scope: Dare County Schools (NC, US)
Eligible Applicants: Teachers and educators in Dare County Schools
- Conference/seminar registration
- Substitute teacher costs
- Hotel accommodations
- Transportation
- Meals
Covered Expenses
Note: Each expense must be documented with a Dare County Schools Professional Development Prior Approval Form (sample provided)
- Individuals: Up to $1,500 per request
- Groups: Up to $3,000 per request
- A group is defined as any number of Dare County teachers (single or multiple schools) attending the same professional development opportunity in the same city on the same date
- Multiple applications for the same PD opportunity will not be accepted
Funding Limits
- One lead applicant should complete the form for whole groups
- Check is delivered to lead applicant's school, who distributes funds
- For recurring/continuing classes or certification costs, use Certification and Tuition Reimbursement Grant Application instead

Application Process

2. Complete Professional Development Grants application form
3. Gather documentation for all requested expenses (registration, hotel receipts, transportation costs, meal receipts)
4. Include completed Dare County Schools Professional Development Prior Approval Form with application
