Purpose: To assist with educational needs that directly impact the education of Dare County students, but are not normally part of the school budget.

Geographic Scope: Dare County Schools (NC, US)

Eligible Applicants: Teachers and educators in Dare County Schools

Focus Areas

• Educational materials and resources
• Technology (hardware and software)
• Classroom equipment and supplies
• Professional learning materials
• Student engagement initiatives

What They Don't Fund

• Salaries
• Furniture normally provided by DCS
• Transportation
• Meals or entertainment
• Items tangential to educational goals

Key Requirements

• All technology requests (hardware/software) must be pre-approved by Holly King, Director of Technology at DCS
• If multiple teachers apply, one lead applicant should submit for the group
• Projects should focus on areas other than meals, entertainment, salaries, furniture, or transportation
• Letter of support from school/district administrator required

Dare Education Foundation has funded numerous instructional projects ranging from $200 to $2,500+ including classroom libraries, technology equipment, interactive learning tools, and curriculum enhancements.
