Mission & Purpose

The Primrose Schools Partnership for Children is a not-for-profit organization that combines funding from Primrose schools and the National Support Center to make an impact locally, regionally, and nationally through partnerships that improve early education, child care, health, and family well-being. The Partnership's mission is to forge a path that leads to a brighter future for ALL children, especially those who are underserved.

  • Target Population Definition

    "Children from historically underinvested in communities" = Children ages birth to five living in low-income households, defined as either:

  • 85% of State Median Income (SMI), or

  • Federal Poverty Level
  • All applicants must demonstrate how funds will reach this population.

    Additional Priority Populations (encouraged but optional):

  • Children with disabilities or developmental delays

  • Children whose families experience barriers related to healthcare access or other social determinants of well-being
  • Definition of "Early Learning"

    For purposes of this grant, early learning refers to comprehensive development and education of children birth to age five encompassing:

  • Experiences, relationships, and supports that foster cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development

  • Traditional early childhood education settings: Early Head Start, Head Start, child care centers, family child care homes, trusted community caregivers

  • Other spaces where young children and families naturally gather: libraries, pediatrician offices, community centers, other family-serving locations

    2. Organization's legal name as listed on IRS determination letter
    3. Communities served (select: First Choice, Second Choice, Third Choice)
    4. CEO/Executive Director Name and Title
    5. Primary Applicant Name, Title, Phone Number, and Email

    Narrative Questions:

    1. Mission Statement - Provide your organization's mission statement

    2. Organization History - Briefly describe your organization's history, including:
    - How long it has operated
    - Core milestones

    3. Population Served - Describe the children and families your organization serves overall

    4. Current Programs - List and briefly describe major ongoing programs

    5. Grant Target Population - Identify and describe the specific population that will be reached with this grant funding

    6. Impact & Access - Describe how the requested funding will create, expand, or improve access to high-quality early learning opportunities for children from communities that have been historically underinvested in

    7. Quality Assurance & Evaluation - Explain how your organization:
    - Defines and assesses "quality" in early childhood education programming
    - How programs/services funded by this grant will be evaluated

    8. Community Partnerships - Describe how your organization will collaborate with partners as part of the programming funded by this grant, and how these partnerships strengthen outcomes for young children served

    9. Budget Request - Enter the total amount requested (within $15,000-$25,000 range)

    10. Budget Narrative - Provide a narrative summary of how requested funds will be allocated over the year-long funding period. Include dollar amounts for each budget category.
