Pittsburgh Cultural Treasures Initiative (PCTI) - Phase II

Overview: Collaborative effort between The Heinz Endowments, the POISE Foundation, and Program to Aid Citizen Enterprise (PACE), in partnership with the Ford Foundation to provide regionally significant cultural organizations of color with meaningful operating support and capacity-building services.

Launch Date: 2021

Phase I Results (2021):

$5 million granted to 16 Black-led organizations

Unrestricted grants ranging from $150,000 to $1 million

Phase II (Current): PACE develops and manages Phase II, which provides learning opportunities, programming designed to increase organizational effectiveness and capacity, and grants.

Geographic Scope: Pittsburgh region, Southwestern Pennsylvania

Cultural organizations of color

BIPOC-led arts and cultural organizations

Operating support and capacity building

Phase II Programming (Free and Open to Public):

In-person presence at Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council's Creative Hive events (November 2024 - April 2025)

Virtual workshops on marketing and funding for creative entrepreneurs and arts organizations

Bimonthly office hours with PACE staff and subject matter experts

Direct access to experts, advice, and resources for growth and success

Guided By: Diverse advisory group representing local and national arts and cultural communities
