Mission
The Frederick Health Pharmacy Practice Residency Program has been designed to develop practitioners who are self-directed and prepared to pursue specialized residency training or assume an advanced practice in a hospital environment. The resident will acquire the skills necessary to enhance pharmaceutical care, leadership, and administrative skills. Residency graduates will demonstrate time management and independent thinking skills that will make them leaders within their practice setting and the profession.- Emergency Department

Department Overview
The Department of Pharmacy consists of a team of clinical pharmacy specialists and clinical pharmacists providing service in multiple areas of practice. The Department currently provides clinical services to:- Every Frederick Health Pharmacy Resident will deliver formal presentations and actively contribute to case study presentations and clinical teaching
- Residents will teach various allied health professionals and precept pharmacy students on clinical rotations
- Academic affiliations with multiple schools of pharmacy including: University of Maryland, Shenandoah University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Notre Dame of Maryland University School of Pharmacy
- Residents may work toward a teaching certificate through the University of Maryland

- Research skills are an essential component
- Each resident will complete a research project suitable for publication and presentation in selected area of pharmacy practice
- Expected to attend ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and Eastern States Regional Pharmacy Residency Conference

- Pharmacist licensure by October 1 in State of Maryland
- Presentation of Pharmacotherapy Rounds
- Minimum of six hours of teaching activities
- Staffing every other weekend
