Program Purpose

Up to $500 per school year is available to qualified K-12 schools to kick start their Performance Pack Program. The Performance Pack is a turnkey toolkit designed to increase breakfast participation within secondary schools but could be used with USDA Child and Adult Care Food Programs (CACFP) dinner programs or a la carte menus.

Focus Areas

• Increasing breakfast participation in secondary schools
• Incorporating additional dairy foods (milk, yogurt, cheese) into school meals programs
• Increasing overall school meal participation
• Supporting school athletics or other after-school programs
• Providing comprehensive nutrition education resources to coaches and teachers

Eligibility

• Target: K-12 schools in Indiana
• Grade Focus: Designed for secondary schools but applicable to USDA CACFP dinner programs or a la carte menus
• Program Type: Schools implementing or seeking to pilot the Performance Pack program

Application Requirements

The application must demonstrate:
• How funding will incorporate additional dairy foods (milk, yogurt, cheese) into school meals program
• How funding will increase participation in school meals
• How funding will be used as part of a pilot program with school athletics or other after-school programs
• That investment will be sustainable for extended use
