Overview

PCF General Grant Program

Funder: Peninsula Community Foundation (PCF)

Geographic Scope: Primary service area includes Davidson, Cornelius, and Huntersville, North Carolina. The Foundation may support activities outside this area if they directly benefit individuals within the Community.

Mission: The PCF seeks to increase awareness of significant community needs and distribute funds to local charities that best address unmet needs of the young, poor, distressed, elderly, and/or handicapped.

Funding Priorities

  • Organizations that achieve tangible, quantifiable results
  • Efforts that assist larger numbers of people
  • Specific projects or programs with specified objectives
  • Community charities demonstrating effectiveness

Eligible Organizations

  • Must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations
  • Must have proven operating model to deliver services
  • Must primarily serve the local community
  • May include religious organizations if funds directed to nonsectarian projects benefiting broad community base

What PCF Will Not Fund

  • Organizations primarily supported by federal, state, or local taxes (except community activities with multi-sector support)
  • Organizations whose sole purpose is to "re-gift" funds
  • Organizations not yet formed without proven operating models
  • Organizations whose activities are not primarily charitable
  • Non-charitable activities

    Additional Support

    Grant recipient organizations benefit from direct involvement of PCF board members and other volunteers, including assistance with fundraising, volunteer recruitment, community presence expansion, strategic planning, and corporate governance improvement.

    Grant Application Process

    1. Complete Grant Application Form

    2. Submit Application

    3. Review Process
    - Grant Committee reviews each application
    - Committee makes recommendations to the Board
    - Board makes funding decisions twice per year (typically May and December)
