Technical Assistance grants provide funding to nonprofit organizations seeking to strengthen their capacity and improve effectiveness. Funds can be used for capacity-building needs such as technology upgrades, leadership training, strategic planning, and other professional development opportunities. Grants are available up to $25,000 and applicants are required to match 20% of the requested amount. Timeline & Process Applicants seeking to engage a consultant or facilitator are encouraged to discuss their plans with the Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE) at the PATH Resource Center before applying. Applications must outline a singular objective, anticipated outcomes, and how technical assistance will lead to lasting organizational improvements—not solely grant outputs. Technical Assistance grants are not a substitute for general operating expenses. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds for the fiscal year are exhausted. Grants must be completed within six months of the award. Applicants can expect to hear from the PATH Foundation within 30 days of submission regarding the outcome of their proposal. Grants must be completed within six months of the award, with final reports due within 30 days of the conclusion of the grant term.

Areas of Focus:Advancement of Technology: Supports software and technology upgrades for enhanced cybersecurity, donor management, corporate reputation, rebranding, or community outreach. Funds may not be used for subscriptions, promotional campaigns, or advertising.Leadership Expertise: Provides funding for leadership training or contracting of a consultant to support boards, staff, or working groups. Funds may be used for travel, conference attendance, or registration fees.Planning for Effective Organizations: Funds consultants for organizational assessments, strategic planning, marketing/communications, fundraising, grant writing, or volunteer corps development. Funding is intended to build the capacity of an organization to be more effective; it may not be used to hire a consultant or freelancer to do the organization’s work.Collaborative Strategies: Supports collaboration and knowledge exchange between two or more organizations with the assistance of a facilitator or consultant.Requests must be consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the PATH Foundation.
