Partner Agency Funding Program

Overview: Valley United Way awards funding annually to its network of partner agencies serving the Lower Naugatuck Valley region.

Geographic Scope: Five communities in the Lower Naugatuck Valley: Shelton, Ansonia, Seymour, Derby, and Oxford, Connecticut

Focus Areas: Three broad funding areas:

  • Preparing youth to succeed

  • Strengthening families

  • Helping people in crisis
  • Eligible Organizations: Nonprofit agencies that are part of Valley United Way's partner network

    Current Partner Network: 17 Valley nonprofits with expertise in providing health, social service, and youth services to families throughout the five-town area

    Recent Funding Amount: FY 2020-21: Over $258,000 awarded to partner agencies

    Funding Sources: All funds come from fundraising efforts including:

  • Workplace campaigns

  • Community fundraising efforts

  • Corporate and business support

  • Employee donations

  • Individual donors
  • Major Corporate Supporters: BIC Corporation, Edgewell Personal Care, Griffin Hospital, Hubbell Incorporated, Iroquois Pipeline, Prudential Financial, and Webster Bank (accounting for almost 75% of funds raised)
