Outstanding Educator Awards

Overview: Jordan Education Foundation recognizes and honors superior teachers with a track record of improving student achievement, using innovative instructional strategies, and making a difference in student lives. Top 10-12 nominees are recognized at JEF's Annual Awards Banquet held in April.

Geographic Scope: Jordan School District, Utah

Eligibility:

  • Licensed educators in Jordan School District

  • May be educator or special educator

  • Only ONE submission per school

  • Submission must be approved by school principal

  • Educators may only win once during their teaching career
  • Award Recognition:

  • Top 10-12 nominees recognized at JEF Annual Awards Banquet (April)

  • Banquet also recognizes Outstanding Principal (selected by district administrators)

  • Banquet celebrates scholarship recipients from seven District high schools

  • Award amount/prize not specified
  • Selection Criteria:

  • Track record of improving student achievement

  • Use of innovative instructional strategies

  • Making a difference in lives of students

  • Submissions scored by JEF Awards Recognition Committee based on 2025 Submission Guidelines
  • Review Process:

  • Submissions reviewed and scored by JEF Awards Recognition Committee

  • Committee members rate submissions 1-5 in each category

  • Higher consideration given to submissions with specific stories and compelling examples
