OSGC Mini-Grant Program

The OSGC Mini-Grant Program supports innovative STEM projects for Ohio K-12 teachers, offering up to $1,000 in funding with a required 1:1 cost share. This initiative encourages proposals that promote STEM education, have a lasting impact, and are replicable. Eligible projects may include purchasing materials or supporting field trips, provided they feature structured STEM programming. Applications are particularly welcomed from schools in urban and rural areas, with all awards contingent on available funding.

The OSGC mini-grant program is designed to support innovative projects and programs from disciplines demonstrating interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and is available to Ohio K-12 teachers. For mini-grants, NASA requires 100% in cost sharing (i.e., 1:1 match Matching funds can be either cash and/or “in-kind” contributions (i.e., dollar estimate of the Principal Investigator (PI) and other personnel time, contributions, transportation costs, equipment supplied by other sources, volunteer time, etc.) Matching funds must be equal to or greater than the OSGC funds requested. Funding is restricted to one year. All mini-grant awards are contingent on available funding. Total OSGC budget request limited to $1,000.

Eligibility

Proposals are welcome from K-12 teachers from all Ohio School Districts. Funds may be used to purchase materials or supplies and support field trips that are an integral part of the project. There should be pre- and post-trip activities, and the site visit must have a structured STEM program.

Ineligibility

Funds may not be used for non-STEM-related equipment, computers, tuition, or to compensate school personnel.
