Mission

The Orchid Giving Circle is an Asian sisterhood that provides grants and fosters philanthropy primarily within and for the North Texas Asian community.

* Show a measure of success qualitatively and quantitatively.

* Leveling the playing field acknowledging and addressing systemic barriers for women and girls

* Elevating Asians in order for them to in turn empower their own community

* Active outreach and engagement including partnerships

Eligibility

* Organizations applying must be a 501(c)(3) organization or have a 501(c)(3) organization fiduciary sponsor.
* North Texas based nonprofit organizations that empower Asian women and girls to achieve their potential and/or support the underserved community of North Texas Asians in general. ​​​
* Beneficiaries of funded activities/projects/proposals must be a majority women and youth (girls) of Asian heritage or identify with the following geo/culture regions: East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Pacific Islanders and Central Asia.
* Amounts granted must be used within one year from date of receipt.

Ineligibility

* Individuals
* Campaigns to elect public officials or for political or lobbying efforts
* Programs that promote religious activities, proselytize or require adherence to a particular religion
* Projects that take place before the completion of the grant making process
* Projects inconsistent with federal, state, and local nondiscrimination ordinances regarding equal employment opportunity
* Grants that ultimately will go wholly to another agency other than the applicant (pass through) unless the other agency is the applicant’s fiscal sponsor
* Organizations that have the ability to levy taxes, e.g., government agencies, school districts, city offices or departments)
