Our History and Mission Founded in 1999, the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan currently manages more than 360 separate component funds and has distributed over $24 million in charitable grants and educational scholarships since the organization was established. These numbers continue to grow as more people step forward as generous participants in the vision of a stronger community. There are many different ways of giving to and through the Community Foundation. Funds can be established for a variety of charitable purposes, and can support one or multiple charities. Our mission is to enable charitable individuals and organizations to become meaningful donors by providing trusted support and expertise for their contributions to make a difference in our community, now and forever. Orange and Sullivan Fund for Women and Children The Rowley Family Foundation’s Fund for Women and Children is a unique philanthropic effort designed to identify and address pressing issues impacting some of the most vulnerable members of our community. A global pandemic now ranks high among adverse childhood experiences. We are deeply sensitive to the challenges COVID-19 has created for local non-profit organizations and acknowledge that they have been on the front lines providing critical services to the community. The Fund for Women and Children receives financial support from the Rowley Family Foundation and is coordinated in partnership with the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan. This strategy is designed to be as efficient and effective as possible in targeting resources and solutions that are making a difference in helping women and children thrive and reach their potential by offering help, hope and lasting change that improves lives and strengthens communities. Launched in 2019 with an inaugural round of grants to fifteen organizations totaling $519,791, this strategy is designed to be as efficient and effective as possible in targeting resources and solutions that are making a difference in helping women and children thrive and reach their potential by offering help, hope and lasting change that improves lives and strengthens communities.
