Overview

A diploma recognition program for military veterans who missed their high school graduation due to service in the U.S. Armed Forces. The program has awarded diplomas to 380 recipients since 2007.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must have served in the U.S. Armed Forces in:
- World War II
- Korean War
- Vietnam War
- OR been interned in a Japanese-American relocation camp during World War II
- Must have received an honorable discharge (for military service)
- Must currently reside in Riverside County
- Degrees can be conferred posthumously

- High school diploma recognition
- Diplomas presented at formal ceremony
- No charge to apply
Legal Basis:
- California Education Code Section 51440 (retroactive diplomas for veterans)
- California Education Code Section 51430 (retroactive diplomas for Japanese-American internment survivors)
