OHF: Community Engagement Grants

The Obici Healthcare Foundation offers Community Engagement Grants to support nonprofit initiatives that enhance the health of local residents. These one-time grants, ranging from $500 to $5000, are intended for programs that address community health needs, promote wellness, and improve health awareness. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and the Foundation prioritizes collaborative projects that innovate and sustain long-term health improvements in Virginia and North Carolina.

Community Engagement Grants are one-time*, discretionary grants available to support nonprofit programs and projects that improve the health status of the people living within the Foundation’s service area. Requests must proactively address community health needs, encourage physical activity and wellness, increase health awareness and knowledge, or provide public access to critical health resources.
The Foundation prioritizes requests that are collaborative and community driven. Nonprofits are encouraged to submit requests that strategically utilize innovative approaches to sustainably improve the community’s long-term health. Applications are generally accepted on a rolling basis starting April and reviewed until funds are exhausted. Contingent on the availability of funds, Community Engagement Grant awards typically range between $500 and $5000. Applications require 30 business days for processing. Awarded organizations are not required to submit grant reports for Community Engagement Grants.

Eligibility

The Foundation will consider proposals that meet the following requirements:The organization must have 501(c)(3) status or be a public entityThe proposed program must address the mission and priorities of the FoundationThe organization must have a current 990 filed with the IRSService AreaObici Healthcare Foundation’s Service Area reflects portions of the previous service footprint of Louise Obici Memorial Hospital.Currently, the Foundation serves the following localities in Virginia:City of FranklinCity of SuffolkIsle of Wight CountySouthampton CountySurry CountySussex CountyThe Foundation also supports the following locality in North Carolina:Gates County
