Overview

NYC Green Fund Grassroots Grants Program

Overview: The NYC Green Fund Grassroots grant program provides funding support for community groups and organizations providing open space programming and stewardship across NYC with annual operating budgets under $175,000.

Purpose: Supports grassroots initiatives across public spaces in all five boroughs to advance the viability of grassroots initiatives and foster a resilient network of equitable public green spaces.

Geographic Scope: All five boroughs of New York City

Funding Range: $1,000 - $40,000 per year for up to two years if eligible

Focus Areas:

  • Open space stewardship

  • Live arts and culture

  • Health and wellness

  • Environmental action

  • Organizational development

  • Youth development programs in parks and open spaces
  • Eligibility:

  • Community groups and organizations with annual operating budgets under $175,000

  • Must work in parks and open spaces across NYC
