Northeastern University The John Martinson Honors Program empowers students to make a meaningful impact in the communities they inhabit through integrated academic pursuits and curated experiential learning. Our program values of Curiosity, Community, and Challenge comes together to form an intersectional and cohesive mission statement as unique as Northeastern’s itself. Honors’ work is centered on enhancing the student undergraduate experience – through academic, professional, and extracurricular opportunities, the Honors Program successfully delivers on three major outcomes: Honors Propel Grant Students in the John Martinson Honors Program have the ability to pursue an Honors Propel Grant, a type of designed to enable student engagement in meaningful, creative, experiential and impactful learning projects of their own design. Awards are limited to $1,000 per student/grant. Students can receive up to three Propel Grants while an Honors Student. Multiple Honors students working together on the same project can apply for funding up to a maximum of $3,000 for a project involving five or more Honors students. Upon the conclusion of the funded project, recipients are required to make a 45 minute presentation to Honors faculty, their mentor, and others about their project, experience & learning outcomes, and field questions.

Open to all Honors students, the Honors Propel Grant is meant to fund creative and experiential projects.Honors Propel Grant applications must include the following information: Clearly defined learning objectives and experiences. If the application is for a group, learning objectives and experiences must be defined for each student.A Letter of Support from a Faculty Mentor who has agreed to meet regularly to ensure project success. Honors can assist you to identify a faculty mentor if needed.
