Overview

Purpose The Norco Community and Economic Development Funds, Donor Advised Funds held at The Greater New Orleans Foundation, were formed as a result of a six-million-dollar gift to the Norco community from Shell. The purpose of these funds is to improve the quality of life, both socially and economically, of people in Norco. The Funds will only consider support for programs that serve the Norco community and its residents. Priority is given to organizations and programs that are located in the Norco community. Norco Community Fund (NCF) NCF supports: Services for Children and Youth to empower young people in Norco to be active participants and/or leaders in the life of the community. Out of School time activities for youth including sports or other non-athletic opportunitiesYouth mentorshipCommunity Involvement Services for Older Adults to ensure older adults in Norco are connected to beneficial services. Opportunities to increase access to services for older adults, including transportationSupport for residential care and community-based facilities aimed at developing a friendly home-like environment, including senior centers, adult day programs, and other facilities Social Services to support all Norco community members, individuals and/or families in meeting their basic needs. High quality and well-coordinated social services related to crisis management and treatment, intake assessment and screening, and early interventionProvide families and individuals with comprehensive, wrap-around services through strong referral networks and shared practices
