Overview

The Nixa Community Foundation works to improve the quality of life for individuals in the Nixa area through thoughtful grantmaking and community leadership. The Nixa Community Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors, chosen for their knowledge of the area. Grant decisions are made by the board. The unique role of a community foundation is to conduct a flexible community grantmaking program which addresses the most important needs of the community at any one time. The flexibility this requires is made possible by charitable donors who established unrestricted or field-of-interest funds and place the decision-making in the hands of the community leaders serving on our Board of Directors as well as dollars raised by the Nixa Community Foundation. The Nixa Community Foundation, has a continuing interest in supporting institutions and projects which provide vital community services; however, the Community Foundation also has an interest in: Projects that provide innovative solutions for existing and emerging community needs. Projects which encourage collaboration between local organizations. Areas of Interest Preference will be given in the following areas of interest: CultureEconomic DevelopmentEducationEnvironmentFamilyHealth & Wellness While these are areas of strong interest to the Nixa Community Foundation, requests need not be limited to these interests. Funding Applicants may apply for up to $10,000 in funding for this grant cycle.
