NGAT Relief Fund

Program Overview: Provides temporary, emergency financial assistance to currently serving and former members of the Texas Army National Guard (TXARNG) and Texas Air National Guard (TXANG)—and their eligible dependents and surviving spouses—who can demonstrate financial need.

Key Policy Update (Effective April 1, 2026): Starting April 1, 2026, the NGAT Relief Fund will be accepting applications exclusively from applicants that have not previously been awarded an NGAT Relief Fund grant. This allows the fund to extend support to a broader group of Guardsmen and families in need.

Cost to Beneficiary: No cost—assistance is provided at no cost to the beneficiary

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Begin application online using the online application portal
    2. Complete all required sections
    3. Provide self-attestation of financial need (Part 5 of application)—must be completed in applicant's own words, explaining the financial hardship/crisis
    4. Submit supporting documentation within three business days of submitting application
    5. Receive email confirmation with Case Number and next steps

  • Supporting documentation varies by service category (reference application for specific requirements)

  • Proof of Texas residency (Texas DL/ID preferred; other residency documents accepted if they clearly show name and Texas address)

  • Documents must be legible and current, showing applicant name, service address, amounts due, and due dates

  • If applying for multiple categories, submit separate application and supporting documents for each category

  • If receiving eviction notice, include it

  • All required eligibility and supporting documentation must be provided within three business days of submitting application
