Newburyport Society for the Relief of Aged Women Grant

The Newburyport Society for the Relief of Aged Women, established in 1835, is dedicated to supporting local women aged 60 and over facing financial difficulties. Through direct financial assistance and grants to local non-profits, the Society addresses urgent needs such as healthcare, housing, and utility costs. Priority is given to women demonstrating acute financial need. Collaborating with local agencies, NSRAW aims to enhance the well-being of elderly women in Amesbury, Newbury, Newburyport, and Salisbury.

NSRAW’s 15-woman board of directors meets regularly to review applications for assistance and disperse foundation funds to older women in our area who cannot afford to pay for critical services they require.

To extend available support to as many women as possible, NSRAW partners with local agencies and organizations and funds grants to them, as appropriate, that will be directed to NSRAW’s target population.

Eligibility

Grant applicants from relevant 501(c)(3) agencies and public agencies: Innovative projects and programsOrganizations and agencies able to demonstrate that the funds will serve NSRAW’s target population. NSRAW's grant funds must focus on women who:are in financial need are at least 60 years oldlive in Amesbury, Newbury, Merrimac, Newburyport, Salisbury, or West Newbury
Individual applicants:You are at least 60 years old You have lived in Amesbury, Newbury, Newburyport, or Salisbury for at least one year – or have recently had to leave the area for financial or medical reasonsYou have limited assetsYou can demonstrate an urgent need for financial assistance
