New Teacher Grant Program

Overview: The Lafourche Education Foundation New Teacher Grant Program supports first-year teachers in Lafourche Parish by providing funds to stock and replenish essential classroom supplies. The program recognizes that new teachers face significant challenges setting up classrooms from scratch with limited resources.

Award Amount: Up to $250 per teacher

Geographic Scope: Lafourche Parish, Louisiana

Eligibility:

First-year PreK–12 public or charter school teachers in Lafourche Parish

Must be directly involved in instruction of students

Employment status verified through Lafourche Parish School District

Eligible Materials: Paper, pens, markers, crayons, storage bins, dry erase boards, calculators, and other classroom staples

Ineligible Purchases:

Technology purchases are not eligible

Approved Vendors:

KEM Supply

Callais Office Supply

No purchase orders required

Program Requirements:

Grant recipients must agree to let LEF showcase their funded classroom project during the same school year

Applications reviewed in the fall

Notification of grant status by early October
