Program Name: New Hampshire Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Tuition Assistance for Nursing Assistant Training

Amount: Up to $6,500 per eligible student

Geographic Scope: New Hampshire, available through St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Currently receiving public assistance

  • Low-income individuals

  • Military veterans

  • Spouse of a veteran
  • Program Details:

  • Available for St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing Nursing Assistant Training Program

  • Program includes 54 hours classroom instruction in basic nursing theory

  • 72 hours of clinical practice at St. Joseph Hospital

  • Upon completion, students eligible to take NH nursing assistant state examination
  • Program Performance:

  • In 2022 (first year), 13 students completed the Nursing Assistant Training program
  • Background: New Hampshire state workforce development initiative to support training for individuals in financial need, military-connected individuals, and public assistance recipients
