NEI Microgrants

Small grants for collaborative programs designed to engage Jewish young adults in Los Angeles. Part of the NextGen Engagement Initiative (NEI), a partnership between Jewish Federation Los Angeles and the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles through their Cutting Edge grants program.

Geographic Scope: Los Angeles

Focus Areas:

• Programming for Jewish professionals in their 20s and 30s
• Jewish arts and culture
• Food justice and Jewish education
• LGBTQ+ Jewish engagement
• Community building and networking
• Jewish film and cultural programming

Eligibility:

• Only NEI network members in good standing may apply
• Programs must represent collaborations between two or more NEI network organizations
• Partners may collaborate with organizations outside the network

Award Details:

• Grant range: $1,000 - $5,000
• Programs must be collaborative initiatives

Key Information:

• NEI provides peer support, expert guidance, and professional development to Jewish professionals
• Network meets regularly both in-person and virtually
• Focus on underserved population of Jewish professionals in smaller community organizations working with young adults

• Artists' Community Retreat
• SEDER Art Microgrant Initiative
• Shul Crawl (synagogue visiting series)
• LGBT and Ally Birthright Trip
• Jewish Film Festival programming

NEI Microgrant Application Process

Eligibility Requirements:

• Applicant must be a NEI network member in good standing
• Program must be a collaborative effort between 2+ NEI network organizations
• Partners may also include organizations outside the network

Grant Characteristics:

• Grants range from $1,000 - $5,000
• Focus on innovative and meaningful engagement of young adults (20s and 30s)
