Sandra & Lawrence Post Israel Grants Program

Overview: Provides grants to local high school and college students visiting Israel for the first time on peer-educational trips. Formerly known as Israel Connections/Experiences (ICE).

Geographic Scope: Los Angeles area, serving students visiting Israel

Focus Areas:

  • First-time Israel trips for teenagers and young adults

  • Peer-educational programs (typically 2-6 weeks)

  • Strengthening Jewish identity through Israel experiences

  • Holocaust education (includes annual March of the Living trip to Poland and Israel)
  • Eligibility:

  • High school students visiting Israel for the first time

  • College students visiting Israel for the first time

  • Students on peer-educational trips

  • March of the Living participants (high school students and Holocaust survivors)
  • Award Details:

  • Standard grant: $500 per student

  • Students may receive additional grants from synagogues and other communal organizations

  • Need-based financial aid available for students who cannot afford trips despite grants
  • Impact:

  • Has helped send close to 5,000 students to Israel over 15 years

  • Program aims to strengthen lifelong Jewish identities
