Nehemiah Fund for Development Projects

Purpose: Provides support for development projects both large and small in communities throughout the Global Anglican Communion

Focus Areas:

• Community development
• Education infrastructure
• Healthcare facilities
• Clean water projects
• Food security initiatives
• Building and construction projects
• Church infrastructure
• Sustainable community solutions

Geographic Scope: Global, with focus on dioceses and churches throughout the Global Anglican Communion

Eligibility:

• Anglican dioceses and churches
• Anglican-affiliated organizations
• Local church leaders working in their communities

What They Fund:

• Development projects of varying sizes
• Building projects (community centers, health clinics, churches)
• Infrastructure improvements
• Small yet creative projects
• Projects approved by ARDF's Global Council

Unique Aspects:

• ARDF commits to independent third-party research to evaluate projects
• Partners work with ARDF to develop proposals for sustainable solutions
• Focus on long-lasting community impact
• Projects may experience obstacles requiring creative solutions
• Fund ensures projects are completed in timely manner
• Addresses projects that fall outside normal grant scope

• New grant cycle opens annually (typically January)

Background:
Named after the biblical story of Nehemiah, who heard Jerusalem was in disrepair and gathered resources to rebuild Jerusalem's walls. Similarly, ARDF partners assess community needs and work with wisdom for sustainable solutions through prayer and discernment.
