Nate Mills Memorial Firefighter's Fund Training Reimbursement

A specialized fund providing reimbursement for firefighter training expenses, established in memory of Nate Mills, a dedicated firefighter who served the Markle Volunteer Fire Department and Fort Wayne Fire Department.

Geographic Scope: Currently serves Fort Wayne firefighters; founder Susan Mills hopes to expand to area volunteer firefighters outside Fort Wayne

Eligibility: Fort Wayne firefighters; future expansion planned for area volunteer firefighters

Background: Nate Mills began his firefighting career at age 19 with the Markle Volunteer Fire Department and later joined the Fort Wayne Fire Department in 2006. He was an advocate for continuous training and passed away on March 1, 2015, after a three-year battle with cancer. His mother, Susan Mills, established this fund to promote the importance of training and continue Nate's legacy of dedication to the firefighting profession.
