NATA Foundation The NATA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), was incorporated in 1991 and established with grants from NATA and Johnson & Johnson. It is the only philanthropic 501 c(3) non-profit dedicated to advancing the athletic training profession through research and education. The Foundation’s work benefits every athletic trainer (AT) and every company associated with the profession, as well as the physically active community at large. Athletic trainers are health care professionals who can be seen on the sidelines, on the job site, on the stage, the battlefield and even in space. They collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Professional Grants Program - New Investigator Grant Each year, the NATA Foundation provides funds for exceptional research projects submitted to both the Professional Research Grant Program and the Student Research Grant Program. Funding Current funding amount for the grant cycle are as follows: New Investigator - $20,000 (total cost limit) - 3 yearsEligibility

An investigator may be the primary investigator on 2 grant proposals per grant cycle. New Investigator Grant Category:Principal Investigator (PI) must be a current NATA member and BOC certified athletic trainer in good standing, and hold an NPI number. PI has not received a single research/project grant greater than $50,000 (total costs) (PI or Co-PI).If you have questions about your eligibility then contact the chair of the research committee.PI must hold the academic rank no higher than assistant professor at the time of original submission or re-submission.
