NATA Foundation The NATA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), was incorporated in 1991 and established with grants from NATA and Johnson & Johnson. It is the only philanthropic 501 c(3) non-profit dedicated to advancing the athletic training profession through research and education. The Foundation’s work benefits every athletic trainer (AT) and every company associated with the profession, as well as the physically active community at large. Athletic trainers are health care professionals who can be seen on the sidelines, on the job site, on the stage, the battlefield and even in space. They collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Research Grants Thank you for your interest in the NATA Research & Education Foundation Research Grant Programs. The NATA Foundation leadership is pleased to offer programs that offers financial support for research. We are excited about the tremendous potential for growth in our profession that will come from your efforts. Doctoral Student Grants Program Each year, the NATA Foundation provides funds for exceptional research projects submitted to both the Professional Research Grant Program and the Student Research Grant Program. Multiple awards are given each year. These awards are a flat amount with no indirect costs allowed. Funding Current funding amount for the grant cycle are as follows: Doctoral - $2,500 (direct cost limit) - Not Allowed (indirect cost limit) - 1 year Grant awards are limited to a maximum of $2,500 in direct costs for the doctoral category, over no more than one year. Please note that a two year funding period is allowed. However, the project timeline must reflect the completion of all study activities except for dissemination of results, by the end of Year 1. Only costs associated for travel to the NATA annual meeting to present results are allowed in Year 2.Eligibility
