Initially, you must obtain the approval of your building principal or supervisor who, if they approve of the idea, will pass it along to the Executive Director of your department.
If the Executive Director also agrees that it’s a worthy idea to be funded, he or she will pass it along to the District Superintendent.
If the District Superintendent approves, he will pass the application to the Foundation’s Board who will consider it.

Not eligible / not funded

Not eligible: Applications will not be considered if all three signatures are not complete.
Not eligible: Projects involving the hiring of outside consultants will not be funded by the Foundation.

The Nassau BOCES Educational Foundation Grant aims to enhance educational experiences for Nassau BOCES students by funding innovative projects that extend beyond standard operating budgets. Educators are encouraged to submit creative proposals that align with best practices in teaching and learning. The foundation prioritizes initiatives that can positively impact a broad student base, fostering a culture of excellence and lifelong learning within the community.

Our goal is to secure and allocate funding that supports our programs and staff, encourages creative ideas, and enhances educational experiences. We actively seek donations and grants to empower students and promote excellence in education.
Nassau BOCES educators are invited to submit their ideas for grants through the Nassau BOCES Educational Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting initiatives that are beyond the scope of the agency's normal operating budget.

If the Executive Director also agrees that it’s a worthy idea to be funded, he or she will pass it along to the District Superintendent. If the District Superintendent approves, he will pass the application to the Foundation’s Board who will consider it. Please do not forget to sign the application and get the applicable approvals.If training is required to implement a curriculum or program requested in a grant, the cost of the training should be included in the curriculum or program cost. However, this training cost should be listed in the project budget.Please note: There must be three (3) comparison quotes to purchase items for your grant
