MRCG-HRB Co-funding Scheme

This co-funding scheme, supported by Cystinosis Ireland, provides funding for high quality research proposals through the Medical Research Council/Health Research Board (MRCG-HRB) co-funding partnership.

Geographic Scope: Supports researchers and research activity based outside of Ireland.

Eligibility:

• High quality research proposals relevant to cystinosis
• Researchers are encouraged to first contact Cystinosis Ireland at any time to discuss research ideas

Track Record: Cystinosis Ireland has a strong track record of supporting research proposals for funding through this co-funding scheme and currently has two active projects underway.

Strategic Relationship: The scheme is designed to support researchers who may benefit from generating preliminary data through the Cystinosis Ireland Seedcorn fund first, which can improve the competitiveness of a potential proposal to the MRCG-HRB co-fund scheme.

Application Process

1. Contact the organization: Email research@cystinosis.ie at any time to discuss your research ideas
2. Determine suitability: Cystinosis Ireland will provide guidance on whether your research idea might be suitable for this funding scheme
3. Generate preliminary data: Consider applying to the Cystinosis Ireland Seedcorn fund first to generate preliminary results that improve competitiveness
4. Submit to MRCG-HRB: Submit your proposal when the call opens (typically September)
