    Eligibility

  • Non-profit groups and organizations within Monterey County whose primary function is producing Theatre, Dance, or Musical Performance (Instrumental or Vocal)
  • Restricted to accredited post-secondary educational institutions and/or non-profit performing arts groups unaffiliated with educational institutions
  • Must be current with all tax filings and in good standing with the California State Department of Justice, Registry of Charitable Trusts

    What They Fund

  • Specific projects or events only — grants will not be provided for general operating purposes
  • Grant request must be for a future event or project
  • Requires detailed budget/explanation of proposed use of funds
  • No "TBD" MPPT funding allowed
  • Documentation (published cost estimates, etc.) must be included with request

  • General operating purposes
  • Past events/projects

    Funding Limits

  • Maximum grant per organization: $4,000
  • Limit: One grant per calendar year per organization (multiple grant requests can be made in a year if the first request is denied)

    Requirements

  • Mandatory crediting of MPPT in ALL program and PR materials related to the funded project
  • A press release of the funded project MUST mention MPPT sponsorship
  • Application must be received no later than 6 weeks before the project

1. Submit application through the MPPT Applicant Portal
2. Include all required documentation:
- Detailed budget and explanation of proposed use of funds
- Cost estimates or published documentation supporting the budget
- Proof of non-profit status and tax compliance
- Evidence of good standing with California State Department of Justice, Registry of Charitable Trusts
- Description of specific project(s) the grant will support

    Timing Requirements

  • Application must be received no later than 6 weeks before the project date
