NOTE: Our governing body and staff here at MDCT have made the decision to pause all open community grants, for the remainder of 2025, and redirect our dollars to help fill in the gap left by Federal/State grant cuts, for our partners in philanthropy.If your organization is experiencing a decrease in operational funds CURRENTLY or EXPECTED in 2025 due to federal or state grant/contract cancellations, please use the application in the portal to inform us of what you need. Our Distribution Committee will be making on-demand funding decisions based on need and resources available, for the remainder of the year. Established in 1972, the Mount Dora Community Trust is a tax-exempt charitable organization created to provide the local community with funding for public educational, charitable, or benevolent projects and purposes. Our mission is to provide outreach programs to schools, charities, and civic causes through the generous actions and financial support of Mount Dora residents and businesses committed to promoting the community’s unity and prosperity.

Eligibility

Regardless of type, all grants must adhere to the following guidelines:The organization must operate within Lake County. Funds received must be used in Lake County. The organization must have a general membership which is open to all segments of the community. The organization should be charitable minded. The organization should have proven its effectiveness and have a broad base of community support. All requests must be authorized by the organization potentially receiving the grant, and that organization must agree to report on the use of any grant funds received. All requests from local schools must be authorized by the current Principal. Any request that benefits a city or county-owned facility or asset must be approved by the appropriate official manager.

Ineligibility

Requests to benefit an individual, such as a fellowship, will ordinarily be denied.
