The MMS&A Charitable Foundation provides organizational grants aimed at promoting equitable health outcomes for marginalized communities. They focus on funding non-profit organizations that deliver quality healthcare services to the un- and underinsured, as well as enhancing behavioral health services. Eligible organizations must be tax-exempt and have limited government funding. Capital campaigns, for-profit entities, and discriminatory practices are not supported. The foundation prefers innovative proposals over repeat requests, emphasizing new programs to address health inequities.

The Foundation award grants to non-profit organizations with a demonstrated commitment to communities that have been historically marginalized or made vulnerable and are focused on one or more of the following funding priorities:

• Quality health care services for the un- and underinsured:

We seek to fund clinics and other groups that directly provide free or subsidized health care care for those who otherwise would not have access. Preference is given to physician-led volunteer initiatives and projects or programs engaging medical students and resident physicians. As with most clinical care, the services provided often include additional case management, education, and referral services.
Behavioral health services when not available:
This category includes substance use intervention and counseling as well as other counseling services.

Eligibility

The organizations we fund must:be a non-profit organization with a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) designation as determined by the Internal Revenue Servicehave less than $1million in assets; andhave none or very limited funding from the state or federal government
