MJ LaFoley Foundation Grant

Purpose: To provide an opportunity for deserving students to meet their special needs or achieve educational or amateur athletic goals through special programs.

Geographic Scope: New England residents

Focus Areas:

Athletic programs

Educational programs

Artistic programs

After-school coaching or tutoring

Special drama programs or instruction

Special outdoor challenge programs

Special academic institutes or camps

Specific athletic camps

Eligibility:

Age: 10 to 17 years old

Resident of New England

Has encountered an unusual personal difficulty such as:

- Learning disability
- Personal or family problems
- Physical needs

Has successfully demonstrated determination to overcome challenges

Exhibits unusual talent in chosen area of interest

Exemplifies MJ's qualities as a humanitarian with enthusiasm, kindness, and dedication

Ineligibility:

Trustees, employees, or family members of the Foundation or related entities are not eligible

Non-Discrimination: The Foundation makes grants on an objective and non-discriminatory basis without regard to race, color, creed, sex, or national or ethnic origin.

Selection Process: Foundation Trustees and Advisory Committee meet on a case-by-case basis to determine selection and number of grants awarded. All requests are acknowledged and reviewed. Decisions are made on a rolling basis throughout the year.
