Program Overview

Hispanic Seafair started in 1980 with the intention to unite the Latino community and empower young Latinas to become leaders through education, community service and scholarship. In September 2017, Hispanic Seafair became a program of Latino Community Fund of Washington State.

    Selection Criteria

    Each year, Hispanic Seafair selects one woman in the community as Miss Hispanic Seafair based on:

  • Community involvement
  • Public speaking abilities
  • Other essential soft skills

    2018-2019:
  • Yaritza Encarnación - Miss Hispanic Seafair 2018-19, received Community Platform Scholarship for women in tech community platform
  • Denisse Dominguez - Hispanic Seafair Ambassador, received Leadership Development Award for mental health community platform

2017-2018:

  • Axa Molina - Miss Hispanic Seafair 2017, won Miss Seafair 2017-2018 and generous scholarship

  • Karen Gamez - Hispanic Seafair Ambassador 2017, won 2nd Seafair Princess and scholarship
