Overview

Mini-Grants

Geographic Scope: Interior Region, Alaska

Purpose: Operational funds to support rural, organized EMS services

Eligible Uses:

  • Training

  • Equipment

  • Insurance

  • Fuel

  • Other operational needs

    • Target Population: Rural EMS services that primarily rely on volunteers

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants may operate as not-for-profit entities, but this is not required

  • NOT eligible: Publicly funded municipal or borough EMS systems

  • New agencies can apply for Start Up Mini-grants year-round

    • What IREMSC Does on Behalf of Recipients:

  • Orders equipment

  • Assists with training organization

  • Collaborates with Tribal Administrators or First Responder leaders to address operational needs

    • Important Notes:

  • Submission does not guarantee approval, regardless of previous funding cycles

  • Current year awards have been distributed

  • 2026 application period will open after July 1, 2026

  • New startup agencies may still apply outside the regular cycle

    Application Process

    For Regular Mini-Grant Applications:
    1. Review Mini-Grant Policy for detailed information and qualification criteria
    2. Complete the Mini-Grant Application Equipment Checklist
    3. Submit Ambulance Survey from previous fiscal year (if received Mini-Grant during that time)
    4. Submit IREMSC Inventory Verification Form (required if Code Blue Funds previously awarded; will be mailed to applicable communities)
    5. Send completed materials to admin@iremsc.org

    For Startup Mini-Grant Applications:
    1. Complete the Startup Mini-Grant Application
    2. Complete the Mini-Grant Application Equipment Checklist
    3. Send to admin@iremsc.org
    4. Note: Additional requirements (Ambulance Survey, Inventory Verification) not required for startup grants
