Mini-Grant

Program Overview:
The Mini-Grant program provides funding up to $2,500 for organizations seeking to make a positive impact in the Adrian community. The Kiwanis Club of Adrian is united in service, building a vibrant community for generations to come.

    Funding Goals

  • Supporting development for youth and families
  • Supporting health, wellness and recreation

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Non-profit, community organizations eligible to apply
  • Must be based in or serving the Adrian-area community
  • Projects must align with Kiwanis Club of Adrian mission and at least one objective
  • Organizations may apply once per fiscal year (October 1 – September 30)
  • Requests cannot exceed $2,500
  • Funded activities must commence within 120 days of grant receipt
  • Expenditures must be made within six months of grant receipt
  • Grant funds not expended must be returned to Kiwanis Club of Adrian

    What Will NOT Be Funded

  • Purposes that would jeopardize tax-exempt status of Kiwanis Club of Adrian or applicant organization
  • Political or religious activities (unless specifically identified for one specific purpose or event)
  • Requests from individuals or foundations (unless specifically identified for one specific purpose or event)

    Grant Requirements

  • Funds must be used solely for the granted purpose
  • Grant recipients must acknowledge Kiwanis Club of Adrian in promotional materials, activities, and programs
  • Mini-grants that align with mission and objectives will be given priority

    Deadlines

  • Review meetings: March and September
  • Application deadline: February 1 or August 1
  • One application form including all required attachments must be submitted by deadline
  • Late submissions and incomplete applications will not be considered
  • Applicants notified following the Board of Directors meeting where applications are reviewed (normally first Thursday of each month)

Application Process

#### Step 1: Prepare Application Materials
1. It is recommended that information be created in an editable document and pasted into the application form for final submission
2. Note: The Mini-Grant application form may be saved at any time. Use the link provided when saved to return and continue working on the application.

#### Step 2: Complete Application Form
1. Fill in the form below completely
2. There are four (4) tabs to complete
3. You will be asked to upload documents (saved securely in Google Drive)
4. Use "Save and Continue" if you need to finish at a later time
5. System will send email with link to continue where you left off

#### Step 3: Submit by Deadline

  • Submit by February 1 or August 1

  • One complete application form including all required attachments must be submitted

  • Late submissions and incomplete applications will not be considered
    • Required Supporting Documentation

    • Project budget
    • Organization's tax-exempt IRS Code 501(c)(3) letter or document stating qualification to receive tax deductible charitable contributions according to IRS regulations
    • List of members serving on organization's governing board

      Review and Notification

    • Applications will be acknowledged via email, usually within one week of being received
    • Funding requests reviewed at regularly scheduled Board meetings in March and September
    • Applicants notified following the Board of Directors meeting where applications are reviewed (normally held on the first Thursday of each month)
